by Harry Aldridge The Rebels: The first band that I had equal footing in and we all went to high school together. In the beginning I made less money, but had a lot more fun! My guitar playing was slowly improving. The Jaguars: The name came from the new Fender Jaguar guitars that Harry Blasingame and I both played. Billy Reeves played bass and Billy Corbi was on the keyboards. Harry's younger brother Troy Blasingame, was the drummer. This band became popular and started to work a lot in the area, but still lacked something that I was looking for. The Revelons: I first saw them playing at the Douglas Teen Center, and I knew that this was the band for me! They sang songs with great harmonies, especially Beach Boys songs. They were nice looking guys who you could telll were having fun on stage. Also their hair was combed down and they dressed with more class than the Jaguars, who were more of the redneck variety. The Revelons consisted of: John Adams - Vocals, Guitar, Trombone Tommy Kennerly - Vocals, Guitar, Trombone Rodney Mills - Vocals, Bass Allen McCartey - Keyboards (Soon departed) Donnie Tanner - Drums (soon replaced and then helped with bookings) Joey Adams - Drums, Vocals I joined the band in late 1963.
